MOEBIA
is a book that tells the story of a
small group of living forms landing on a
desolated land full of these goddamn scorpions.
A gathering of collective memories to shape
an imaginary world haunted
data set dreaming of moebius ghosts.
Produced by studio u2p050 in collaboration
with Jeanne Knoplioch (illustrations),
Zoey Amandine Fery (layout), Philippe Ngo (editor)
and Pauline Broquet (cover).
The 70 pages of the book have been adapted into
drawings using the text-to-picture technique.
This technique text into images using an
artificial intelligence algorithm.
An algorithm searches collections of images
to generate new ones based on the words
inserted at the start. An accelerated review of
the multitude of images that humans have already
produced to date.
The team used the VQ-Gan algorithm developed in 2020.
Depending on the image bank associated with
the text (Wikiart,Openimages, ImageNet, Coco,
Faceshq, Sflckr),the algorithm will propose
different results.
For Moebia, the design studio used
an algorithm available on Google developed by
developed by researcher Katherine Crowson,
a specialist in AI-based generative art.
